Licence terms
Knight Customs — Digital File, Subscription and Store Credit Terms
Last updated: 18 August 2026
These Terms apply to:
- All digital files purchased, redeemed, downloaded or accessed through Knightcustoms.com.
- All Knight Customs subscription plans.
- All Knight Customs Store Credits.
- All physical 3D prints produced from Knight Customs Digital Files.
By purchasing a Digital File, starting or renewing a subscription, redeeming Store Credits, downloading a file or using a Knight Customs design, you agree to these Terms.
If a product page, subscription page or written agreement contains additional or different licence terms, those specific terms take priority for that product or service.
1. Definitions
Digital File means any downloadable content supplied by Knight Customs, including STL, 3MF, G-code, OBJ, ZIP, instruction, image and related files.
Physical Print means a physical object produced directly from a Digital File using additive 3D printing.
Personal Use means private, non-commercial use from which you receive no payment, business benefit or other compensation.
Commercial Use includes selling, advertising, commissioning, renting, exchanging or otherwise supplying Physical Prints for payment or business benefit.
Subscription means a Personal, Personal Super Fan, Commercial, Enterprise or other recurring Knight Customs membership plan.
Store Credits means promotional account credits awarded as a subscription benefit.
2. Ownership of the Digital Files
Digital Files are licensed, not sold.
Knight Customs retains all copyright, design rights, trademarks and other intellectual property rights in its Digital Files and designs. Purchasing or downloading a Digital File does not transfer ownership of the design or the Digital File to you.
All licences granted under these Terms are non-exclusive, non-transferable and non-sublicensable.
You are responsible for keeping your account details, download links and Digital Files secure.
3. Personal Use Licence
Unless a product page expressly states otherwise, every Digital File lawfully purchased or redeemed from Knightcustoms.com includes a Personal Use Licence.
The Personal Use Licence allows you to:
- Download and retain the Digital File for your own use.
- Make reasonable backup copies for your own use.
- Produce Physical Prints for your own personal, non-commercial use.
- Resize, split or modify the Digital File for your own personal use.
- Paint, finish, assemble and install your Physical Prints.
- Share your own photographs or videos of your Physical Prints.
When publicly sharing photographs or videos, you must identify the design as being by Knight Customs and, where practical, tag Knight Customs or link to the relevant product page.
The Personal Use Licence continues for as long as you comply with these Terms.
4. Prohibited Uses of Digital Files
Unless Knight Customs gives you written permission, you may not:
- Share, sell, gift, donate, exchange, sublicense or redistribute a Digital File.
- Provide a Digital File or download link to another person, including another Knight Customs customer or subscriber.
- Share your Knight Customs account or subscription with another person or business.
- Upload a Digital File to a marketplace, repository, shared drive, social-media group, file-sharing service or public database.
- Provide a Digital File to an external printing service, contractor or manufacturer.
- Upload a Digital File to an artificial-intelligence training system, generative-design platform or dataset.
- Sell, share or distribute a modified, adapted, remixed or derivative Digital File.
- Extract part of a Digital File for use in another digital product that will be shared or sold.
- Scan or reproduce a Physical Print for the purpose of creating a new digital file.
- Claim authorship or ownership of a Knight Customs design.
- Remove copyright, attribution or ownership information included with a Digital File.
- Copy or use Knight Customs product photographs, logos or marketing materials without permission.
These restrictions apply to original Digital Files and to all modified, converted or adapted versions.
5. Manufacturing Restrictions
Knight Customs Digital Files are licensed only for additive 3D printing.
They may not be used for:
- Injection moulding.
- Rotational moulding.
- Casting or creating production moulds.
- CNC machining.
- Vacuum forming.
- Tooling.
- Any other mass-manufacturing process.
A different manufacturing method may only be used with prior written permission from Knight Customs.
6. Subscription Plans
The current price, billing interval, Store Credit allocation, discount and included benefits for each subscription are displayed on the subscription page and at checkout. Those displayed details form part of these Terms.
Personal
The Personal subscription provides the Store Credits, discounts and other benefits displayed for that tier. All Digital Files obtained under this plan are licensed for Personal Use only.
Personal Super Fan
The Personal Super Fan subscription provides the enhanced Store Credits, discounts and other benefits displayed for that tier. All Digital Files obtained under this plan are licensed for Personal Use only.
Commercial
The Commercial subscription includes the Personal Use Licence and the Commercial Licence described in these Terms. The Commercial subscription does not require the subscriber to operate a brick-and-mortar hobby shop.
Enterprise
The Enterprise subscription is available only to approved brick-and-mortar hobby shops. It includes the Commercial Licence and any library access, custom-design, advance-release, display or other benefits shown on the Enterprise subscription page.
Unless Knight Customs agrees otherwise in writing:
- An Enterprise subscription covers one business and one physical retail location.
- Additional businesses or locations require separate subscriptions.
- Custom or store-specific designs remain the intellectual property of Knight Customs.
- Customisation does not transfer ownership or create exclusivity.
- Enterprise library access and other Enterprise-only benefits are available only while the subscription remains active.
Knight Customs may request reasonable information to confirm Enterprise eligibility.
7. Subscription Billing and Cancellation
Subscriptions renew automatically at the monthly, annual or other billing interval selected at checkout until cancelled.
By subscribing, you authorise Knight Customs or its payment provider to charge the applicable subscription fee to your selected payment method at each renewal.
Subscription fees are charged in advance.
You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account or by contacting Knight Customs. Unless your account states otherwise:
- Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid billing period.
- Your subscription benefits continue until that effective end date.
- You will not be charged for the next billing period.
- Subscription fees already paid are not prorated or refunded for change of mind, except where required by law.
If a payment fails, is reversed or is disputed, Knight Customs may suspend the subscription, associated Store Credits and any Commercial Licence rights until payment is resolved.
Changing subscription tier changes your benefits and licence rights from the effective date shown in your account.
Subscriptions and their benefits may not be transferred, resold or shared.
8. Store Credit Terms
Eligibility
Store Credits are available only to active subscribers whose selected plan includes Store Credits. Credits are normally awarded after successful subscription payment and in the amount displayed for the applicable plan. Unless stated otherwise on the subscription page, one Store Credit equals USD $1 of discount on an eligible Digital File purchase.
Rollover and expiry
Unused Store Credits roll over while your subscription remains continuously active. If your subscription expires, is cancelled, becomes inactive or is terminated, all unused Store Credits will expire and be forfeited on the effective end date of the subscription, subject to any rights that cannot lawfully be excluded. Changing directly from one active Knight Customs subscription tier to another does not by itself forfeit accumulated Store Credits unless otherwise stated at the time of the change.
Permitted use
Store Credits may only be redeemed against eligible Knight Customs Digital Files sold on Knightcustoms.com. Store Credits may not be used for:
- Subscription fees.
- Physical products.
- Custom-design services.
- Gift cards.
- Shipping charges.
- Taxes.
- Products or services sold on another website.
No cash value or transfer
Store Credits:
- Are promotional subscription benefits and are not cash, gift cards or stored currency.
- Cannot be withdrawn or exchanged for cash.
- Cannot be sold, gifted, transferred, traded or shared.
- May only be used through the subscriber account to which they were awarded.
- Do not earn interest.
- Have no cash value after expiry or forfeiture.
If Knight Customs approves a refund for a purchase made using Store Credits, the credit portion may be returned as Store Credits rather than cash, unless applicable law requires another remedy.
Knight Customs may correct, remove or reverse Store Credits awarded through error, fraud, payment reversal, chargeback or misuse.
Knight Customs may change the Store Credits awarded by a subscription tier or their redemption value for future billing periods. Material changes will be displayed or notified before they apply to a future renewal where required by law.
9. Commercial Licence
An active Commercial or Enterprise subscription grants the subscriber a limited Commercial Licence.
The Commercial Licence applies only:
- While the Commercial or Enterprise subscription remains active and fully paid.
- To Digital Files lawfully obtained through the subscriber's own Knight Customs account.
- To Digital Files that are not expressly excluded from commercial use on their product page.
- To Physical Prints manufactured using additive 3D printing.
Subject to these Terms, you may:
- Produce and sell Physical Prints of eligible Knight Customs designs.
- Sell Physical Prints individually or as part of a completed physical RC model or build.
- Sell through your own website, online marketplace, physical store, event or direct customer order.
- Paint, finish and assemble the Physical Prints.
- Scale, orient, support, split or make minor fit adjustments required for printing or installation.
- Use your own photographs and videos of the Physical Prints in sales listings.
Unless a product page states otherwise, there is no per-print royalty or quantity limit while your Commercial Licence remains active.
A Commercial Licence does not transfer ownership of the underlying design or Digital File.
Commercial attribution
Every online product listing must clearly include:
DESIGN BY KNIGHT CUSTOMS
Where practical, the listing should also link to Knightcustoms.com or the relevant Digital File product page.
You must clearly identify yourself or your business as the manufacturer and seller of the Physical Print.
You may describe yourself as a Knight Customs Commercial Licensee while your licence is active. You may only describe yourself as an Authorised Knight Customs 3D Printer if Knight Customs has separately approved or listed you as such.
You may not suggest that:
- Your Physical Prints were manufactured by Knight Customs.
- Your business is owned by Knight Customs.
- Knight Customs guarantees or endorses your printing quality.
- An official partnership exists unless Knight Customs has confirmed it in writing.
Knight Customs logos and branded marketing assets may not be used without written permission.
Commercial modifications
The following print-preparation changes are permitted:
- Scaling.
- Orientation.
- Support placement.
- Splitting parts for printing.
- Minor fit or clearance adjustments.
- Adding your own supports, sprues or print aids.
- Painting, finishing and assembly.
You may not commercially sell a substantially modified or derivative Knight Customs design without prior written permission.
Modified or adapted Digital Files may never be sold, shared or distributed.
Employees and contractors
Employees working directly for the licensed business may access Digital Files only:
- Under the business's direct control.
- For the sole purpose of producing the licensed business's Physical Prints.
- While the Commercial or Enterprise subscription remains active.
Employees may not retain or independently use the files.
Digital Files may not be provided to an external contractor, separate business, third-party printing service or unlicensed location without written permission from Knight Customs.
10. Commercial Seller Responsibilities
Commercial licensees manufacture and sell Physical Prints independently from Knight Customs.
You are solely responsible for:
- Testing the print quality, strength, safety and fit of every product you sell.
- Choosing suitable printers, materials and print settings.
- Ensuring that products are appropriate for their intended use.
- Providing accurate product descriptions and installation information.
- Complying with applicable product-safety, labelling, tax and consumer laws.
- Handling your own prices, orders, delivery, returns, warranties, complaints and customer disputes.
- Obtaining any business registrations, insurance or permits required for your operations.
Knight Customs is the designer and licensor of the Digital File. Knight Customs is not the manufacturer or seller of Physical Prints produced by a commercial licensee.
11. End of Commercial Rights
Commercial rights end when the Commercial or Enterprise subscription expires, is cancelled, becomes inactive or is terminated.
From the effective end date, you must:
- Stop manufacturing Knight Customs Physical Prints for sale.
- Stop accepting new orders.
- Remove all sales listings.
- Stop advertising Knight Customs Physical Prints.
- Stop selling any remaining printed inventory.
- Stop describing yourself as a Commercial Licensee or Authorised Knight Customs 3D Printer.
Remaining inventory may only be sold after the licence ends if Knight Customs gives written permission.
Digital Files that you separately purchased or validly redeemed before the subscription ended may continue to be used under the Personal Use Licence.
Files or benefits provided solely through active Enterprise library access may no longer be accessed or used after the Enterprise subscription ends unless they were separately purchased, redeemed or covered by a written agreement.
12. Digital Product Refunds
Digital Files are normally supplied immediately after purchase.
Except where applicable law provides otherwise, Knight Customs does not offer change-of-mind refunds after a Digital File has been accessed or downloaded.
A refund will not normally be provided because:
- You purchased the wrong file.
- You changed your mind.
- You do not own a compatible printer or RC model.
- Your printer, material or slicer settings produced an unsuccessful print.
- You failed to review the product description or compatibility information before purchasing.
If a Digital File is materially defective, corrupted or does not match its description, contact Knight Customs so that the issue can be assessed and an appropriate repair, replacement or refund provided where required.
Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantee, right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded, including rights under the Australian Consumer Law where applicable.
13. Compatibility and Printing Results
Printing results depend on factors outside Knight Customs' control, including:
- Printer condition and calibration.
- Material selection.
- Slicer software.
- Print settings.
- Supports and orientation.
- Assembly and installation.
- Changes made by the user.
- Revisions to third-party RC vehicles or products.
Knight Customs does not guarantee that every Digital File will work with every printer, material, slicer or product revision.
You are responsible for checking compatibility and determining whether a Physical Print is suitable for its intended use.
14. Warranty and Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Knight Customs is not responsible for:
- Failed prints or wasted material.
- Damage to printers, tools, RC models or other property.
- Incorrect printing, assembly or installation.
- Damage caused by modifying a Digital File.
- Physical Prints manufactured or sold by a customer or commercial licensee.
- Customer claims or disputes involving an independent commercial licensee.
- Indirect, incidental or consequential loss arising from the use of a Digital File or Physical Print.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
15. Breach and Termination
Knight Customs may suspend or terminate an account, subscription or licence where there is reasonable evidence of:
- Unauthorised file sharing or redistribution.
- Unlicensed commercial sales.
- Account or subscription sharing.
- Intellectual property infringement.
- Fraud, chargebacks or payment abuse.
- Misrepresentation as Knight Customs or as an official partner.
- Any other material breach of these Terms.
If your licence is terminated for breach, you must immediately:
- Stop using the affected Digital Files.
- Stop manufacturing, advertising and selling affected Physical Prints.
- Remove affected listings.
- Delete the affected Digital Files and copies if requested by Knight Customs.
- Stop using Knight Customs branding or licence status.
Termination does not prevent Knight Customs from pursuing other rights or remedies available under applicable law.
16. Changes to These Terms
Knight Customs may update these Terms to reflect changes to its products, subscriptions, business practices or legal obligations.
The updated version will be published on Knightcustoms.com with a revised "Last updated" date.
Material changes to an active subscription will apply no earlier than the subscriber's next renewal after reasonable notice, unless an earlier change is required by law, necessary to protect intellectual property or required to address fraud, security or misuse.
Updated Terms apply to future purchases, downloads, subscriptions and renewals from their effective date.
17. General Terms
These Terms, together with the applicable product page, subscription page and checkout information, form the entire agreement concerning Knight Customs Digital Files, Store Credits and licence rights.
If any part of these Terms is found to be unlawful or unenforceable, the remaining sections will continue to apply.
A failure by Knight Customs to enforce a provision on one occasion does not waive its right to enforce that provision later.
18. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
You and Knight Customs submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Victoria, Australia.
This section does not prevent a customer from relying on mandatory consumer rights that apply in their country or place of residence.
